About this winery

The La Serena estate has belonged to the Mantengoli family since the 1930s, but wine production only began in 1988 when twin brothers Andrea and Marcello joined the family business. Product notes

Clayey-sandy and marly soil at an altitude of 300 meters

Production notes

After destemming, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel barrels equipped with a temperature control system. The wine is then aged in barrels for approximately 12 months. Before being released for sale, it undergoes bottle aging, essential for reaching its full maturity. It is thus made available two years after the harvest.

Tasting notes

Ruby red robe with brilliant, luminous highlights. Bouquet rich in fruity and floral notes. Intense, balsamic palate with just the right amount of tannins and a lively acidity that gives it perfect balance. Pairs well with pasta, pizza, and red meats.

James Suckling, December 2024 (Vintage 2021)

An intense and spicy wine with graceful aromas of peach tea, oak bark, smoke, incense, lavender, violets and peonies. A slightly sweet sensation on the palate, with an approachable structure due to supple fruit, crisp and zesty acidity and ripe, velvety tannins. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
