The La Serena estate has belonged to the Mantengoli family since the 1930s, but wine production only began in 1988 when twin brothers Andrea and Marcello joined the family business. What started as a one-hectare farm has since expanded to 30 hectares, including about ten planted with vines, exclusively dedicated to Sangiovese for the production of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Andrea has always cultivated his vines organically, and since the 2013 vintage, his wines have been officially certified "Made from Organic Grapes" on the label.
