Located in the commune of Puyloubier at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, this estate is set against a natural backdrop of red earth. Its history spans more than forty years. Henning Hoesch, a German-born Yale professor, left the American campus in 1972 to purchase this 65-hectare estate, which was then completely uncultivated. He planted three hectares of vines, experimenting with organic farming methods. The wines quickly distinguished themselves through their full-bodied intensity and rich texture. His son, Sylvain, has continued the venture, guided by a commitment to respecting the soil, a hands-off approach in the vineyard, and the use of modern winemaking equipment. The whites are radiant and quintessentially Provençal, while the authentic reds reflect the refreshing character of the Sainte-Victoire mountain—enhanced by impeccable aging in both amphorae and barrels that allows the terroir to speak for itself.
