About this winery
Famille Arbeau are based in Fronton, a tiny but fascinating appellation on the river Tarn around 30 miles north of Toulouse. The Arbeau's winemaking roots in the area date back to 1878, and the domaine is now run by brother and sister Anne and Gérard Arbeau who have converted to organics in order to better express the unique terroir and grape varieties of Fronton.

Production notes
For this wine, you need a rather special terroir: “maigre” soils of low fertility (to prevent the vine from overproducing), composed of stony boulbènes and gravel. Also essential: exceptional exposure, as the vineyard follows the contours of the land to offer optimum exposure to the sun. Manual de-budding and thinning create natural aeration for the grapes. Leaf thinning is carried out on the “rising sun” side of the vineyard to ensure that the grapes are ripe, ready for traditional vinification and ageing in vats to let the intensity of the fruit set the tone.
Tasting notes
A fine example of the négrette grape variety: a juicy, generous wine, with aromas of fruit and flowers (violet), not to mention fleshy tannins that give it a fine backbone. This light, crisp wine will accompany tapas, charcuterie and cheese platters, as well as meats and dishes from the Southwest.
