About this winery

Agricola Tiberio is located in the rugged Adriatic region of Abruzzo, where Cristiana Tiberio quickly built a reputation for the excellence of her wines produced on her family's 30-hectare estate. Product notes

380 meters above sea level – 1,247 feet above sea level. Limestone, marl-clay soil

Production notes

Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and no malolactic fermentation. Aged in stainless steel tanks and in bottles for 10 months. Unfined, unfiltered.

Tasting notes

Deep straw yellow with golden hues. Captivating aromas of ripe apricot, kiwi, pear, lemon oil, lime cream, and sweet spices. Creamy and rich on the palate, it becomes more assertive on the mid-palate. The finish is long and harmonious, with acidity that prolongs the orchard and citrus aromas. Pairs well with sweetbreads and lobster.

Eric Guido, May 2025

The 2023 Pecorino Quarmari sneaks up on you with a bouquet that starts quite understated and coy but becomes explosive with time. A burst of crushed rocks and sage gives way to nuances of green apple and sweet spice. It possesses a deep, glycerol-like texture, nearly oily in feel, with tart orchard fruits and masses of stimulating citrus further enhanced by a core of brisk acidity. The 2023 finishes with a gentle tannic heft, leaving hints of salted lime to linger. The Quarmari takes Pecorino to a whole new level.
