About this winery
Since 2016, Julie and Mathieu have been cultivating this land with a commitment to respecting tradition and biodiversity. They have been in organic conversion since 2020. The origins of Château La Grande Clotte date back to the 16th century. It is located in the heart of the Lussac-Saint-Emilion appellation, which produces only red wines; the 7 hectares of vines grow in clay-limestone soils. They are advised by the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland.

Product notes
On the plot of land in front of the house, there are Merlot vines that have been proudly displaying themselves for 90 years. These are the vines that give birth to L’Envolée, a cuvée that is only produced in exceptional years.
Production notes
The grapes never see the vat: this is the whole-cluster fermentation method, which puts the grapes in contact with the wood of the barrels from the very beginning of alcoholic fermentation. Aging then takes place in the same barrels for approximately 16 months.
Tasting notes
The nose is rich and highly concentrated, with abundant dark fruit and luscious aromas. On the palate, this wine displays a very high tannic potential, but only with ripe, fine, and silky tannins. The balance between power, sweetness, and smoothness is perfect. A very long finish. Pairing: Rib of Beef
