Product notes

“Bacia,” meaning “kiss” in Italian, is a concentrated Sangiovese, impressively fresh and vibrant, full of energy and tension; Stella describes it as “invigorating, like a good kiss (bacio).” The other Italian word on the label, Felicità, means “joy.” Production limited to 8,537 bottles.

Tasting notes

Stella di Campalto’s 2019 “Bacia” Brunello di Montalcino is a radiant and emotionally expressive wine from a single cherished parcel, crafted with biodynamic precision and intuitive sensitivity. The nose is vivid and layered, offering aromas of wild cherry, rose petal, and blood orange, intertwined with hints of dried herbs, incense, and warm earth. On the palate, it’s elegant and pure, with silky tannins and lively acidity framing vibrant red fruit, mineral tension, and gentle spice. The finish is long and whispering, with graceful persistence. A luminous, soulful Brunello that captures the essence of the 2019 vintage and site.

Eric Guido, November 2024 (Vintage 2019)

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Bacia is deep and complex, mixing black cherries with cedar box, autumnal spice, mentholated herbs and a dusting of cocoa. This speaks in bass tones, with dark, saturating red fruit and minerals excited by a core of brisk acidity and a balsamic tinge that defines the close. It finishes with tremendous length, staining and intense, leaving a primary concentration of cranberry and blackberry to mingle with sweet tannins. The 2019 Bacia is a bombshell beauty. Of note, this bottling may be renamed prior to its release in March 2025.
