About this winery

Tenuta San Leonardo, with its approximately 300-year history, is undeniably one of Trentino's leading wine estates and has long produced one of the region's finest wines: the red of the same name. Today, San Leonardo boasts around 20 hectares of vineyards planted with international grape varieties that thrive thanks to the estate's diverse microclimates. Product notes

Vette takes its name from the imposing peaks that overlook its Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. The vines that produce Vette di San Leonardo are located in the Cembra Valley and on the hills of Pressano, Sorni and Trento on porphyritic-volcanic soils of various origins: red marls in the Pressano area, sandy silts in the Cembra Valley and medium silts in the other areas, all derived from morainic sediments.

Production notes

Vinification in stainless steel tanks with short cold maceration, fermentation at low temperature for approximately 20 days. Aging on yeast for 5 months with constant lees stirring in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes

Light greenish-yellow color. Fragrant aromas of white peach with notes of tropical fruit, wildflowers, and hay. On the palate, a saline, fresh, and lively flavor, pleasant to drink, with a subtle yet persistent finish. Pairs well with grilled fish and goat cheese

Vinous

Eric Guido, December 2025 (Vintage 2024)

The 2024 Vette di San Leonardo is a total pleasure on the nose, with depths of crushed navel orange, a cascade of confectionery spice and minty herbs. It possesses an inner sweetness up front, contrasted by salty mineral tones and a stimulating core of acidity as a vivid note of ripe nectarine settles on the senses. Nuances of sour lime mix with a saline tinge as this tapers off with excellent length and clarity.

Jeff Porter, December 2025 (Vintage 2024)

Like hiking through an alpine meadow with a basket of citrus. The freshness hits different here, more crystalline than crisp. This is the wine equivalent of that perfect summer day when everything just feels right. Grilled shrimp would make it even better

Monica Larner, November 2025 (Vintage 2024)

The Tenuta San Leonardo 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Vette di San Leonardo is especially fragrant and bright with citrus, tomato leaf and tropical tones. The profile of the wine borrows freshness from its Alpine environment and aromas that are true to the grape. It finishes short and with sharp crispness
