About this winery
A 23-hectare family estate located 17 km from Cahors on the Causse Calcaire, Combel-la-Serre came into being under the impetus of Jean-Pierre ILBERT, who decided to leave the cooperative winery in 1998 to become independent. His son, Julien, returned to the estate in 2003 and now works with his wife Sophie. Product notes
A single plot, 40 years old, of red clay on a limestone base located at an altitude of 350 m on the Causse, in the place called "Rassiels". As its name suggests, a cherry tree is planted on the plot and gave it its name. 8,000 bottles produced.
Production notes
100% Côt Noir (Malbec). A single parcel of red clay on limestone bedrock at an altitude of 350 m on the Causse, in a place called "Rassiels". Traditional vinification with maceration for around 25 days and ageing in cement vats only for around fifteen months.
Tasting notes
Its color is dense, revealing notes of cherries in brandy. The palate is juicy and smooth, with fresh tannins. A lively and unique cuvée, seducing with its uniqueness and purity. Pairs well with duck confit and game meats.
