The Ferretti family winery is located in the Bassa Padana, halfway between Parma and Reggio Emilia, a truly fertile region where there is one cheesemaker for every thousand inhabitants and where pork reigns supreme, every part of the animal being transformed into delicious cuts of meat, including the famous prosciutto di Parma and numerous varieties of salami. The estate boasts over 7 acres of vineyards and a slightly larger area of available but uncultivated pastureland. Due to its long history, some vines date back to the 1930s; many of these belong to different grape varieties and are planted in separate rows within the same vineyard, as was the custom in many parts of Emilia-Romagna.
